Jesse Owens

Jesse F. Owens, his wife Tiffany, and their sons Gavin and Carter reside in Gallatin, Tennessee. In 2018, he planted Immanuel Church where he continues to serve as pastor. Jesse is also Assistant Professor of Historical and Systematic Theology at Welch College. He holds a Ph.D. in Historical Theology (The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary), an an M.Div. in Christian Ministry (The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary), and a B.A. in Pastoral Ministry (Welch College). His primary academic interests include church history, historical theology, and systematic theology.
Jesse has contributed chapters to Teacher, Scholar, Shepherd (Randall House Academic), Arminian Baptists: A Biographical History of Free Will Baptists (Randall House Academic), In Essence One, In Persons Three: The Doctrine of the Trinity in Particular Baptist Life and Thought, 1640s–1840s (H&E Academic), Trinity, Creed and Confusion: The Salters’ Hall Debates of 1719 (Regent’s Park College, Oxford) and The Promise of Arminian Theology (Randall House Academic), as well as various journal articles.
Jesse co-hosts a regular podcast, “Generally Particular,” that explores Baptist history and theology. He is a Senior Editor for Hanover Press, overseeing Baptist Studies publications. He also serves as a Fellow at The Andrew Fuller Center for Baptist Studies and the London Lyceum .
